ART LED IN MOTION

LED-technology with digital programming

His latest work is based on the superimposition of thin lines of light that are composed in a choreography of animated shades, with hypnotic effects. The animations are driven by digital algorithms that transform light into colored geometric particles that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination.

A straight line is the shortest way to connect two points, but when you accompany Philippe Gourdon into his world, lines become light and change the scale of time. Shadows, reflections, distortions and movement are blended to invent new stories. The laws of optics are used in random combinations that transform geometry into visual illusion. His work becomes a recorder of light in the plural, perhaps to anticipate the end of the sun, which is predicted in 5 billion years' time, just time to get started...

This work is based solely on a line of digital LEDs, animated by a specific computer program to mix light and matter.

The result of these multiple light effects, explores the addictive possibilities of animated light and suggests visions between the delirium of Time Square's scrolling advertisements, the colorful explosion of Shibuya, and the soothing power of light therapy.
